This abstract artwork was inspired by a long walk on a sultry summer afternoon. The shade from two large Yew trees in a rural churchyard provided respite from the intense heat. A shimmering array of wildflowers danced in the dappled light.  In the centre of my view, an aged heavy oak gate.
 
This work is created from snippets of favourite fabrics, hand embellished with embroidery stitches to give the feel of a miniature quilt.
