Moon Sisters - Annette Elizabeth Sykes

Nearly every indigenous tribe has seen women gathering together for their monthly moon, a time for separation from the rest of the world, time for introspection, and time for peace and healing.  In many villages, women all menstruated at the same time, nature's way of making sure that the men of the tribe did not stray!  

This piece was inspired by the ‘Blood Moon’ in our skies in October, the strength and overwhelming power of the moon just made me fly into the studio and follow my heart and spirit to make this piece.  Two women, blood sisters sharing their time and their moon.
