This whimsical work features a pair of anthropomorphic dolls - that is, animals with human characteristics. This quirky piece is a  joyful celebration of love, perfect for the Spring season!
 
Mummy Butterfly spreads wide her joyful wings, sharing a delightful moment with Baby Caterpillar. He comes to her with his nappy freshly pinned, offering his blankie. Their eyes meet and the love they share is palpable.
 
To create this work, I have brought together clay, vintage doll parts, vintage papers, and reclaimed fabric. The two figures are mounted on a sanded and oiled wooden block, which was cut from a felled branch in my garden.
 
The work stands approx 24cm high, 20cm across. This unique sculpture is a collector's piece and definitely not a toy!
