Our Winter exhibition features artworks to evoke the freshness of the air on a crisp Winter walk, the low sun in the sky, the darkness extending bringing shorter days. Indoors there are extra blankets, mugs of hot cocoa, cosy toes warmed by the fire and bright twinkling festive lights.
In the natural world there's a whisper of wing, a pounce in the snow, a howl at the moon.
Winter in the Northern Hemisphere is a strange and magical time. There is wonder to be found in the natural world as it draws in, becoming still.
The trees are bare, frost creeps across the land creating lace-like patterns on all that its icy fingers caress.
Creatures burrow underground for warmth. Birds forage for the last few berries or bugs. The days are much shorter but as all around us becomes quiet and dark and still, we remain in the hustle and bustle of the season.
